Pinoso marks a historic anniversary with special days of devotion, community and festive tradition

An anniversary bringing Pinoso together

In 2026, Pinoso marks 175 years since the Virgen del Remedio was proclaimed the town’s patron saint in 1851. Pinoso Town Council and the Cofradía de la Virgen del Remedio invite residents and visitors to celebrate this special milestone together.

The Virgen del Remedio holds a central place in the history and identity of Pinoso. Faith, local tradition and community come together during an anniversary programme running from Friday 2 to Wednesday 7 October.

Confirmed anniversary programme

Friday 2 and Saturday 3 October: opening of the festive anniversary weekend.

Saturday 3 October: a solemn extraordinary procession in honour of the Virgen del Remedio. This special procession is one of the central moments of the anniversary.

Monday 5 to Wednesday 7 October: a triduum in honour of Pinoso’s patron saint, with three consecutive days of prayer and celebration. It culminates on 7 October, the annual feast day of the Virgen del Remedio in Pinoso.

Everyone is welcome

Everyone is invited to take part and share these historic days. The announced celebrations are free to attend.

Exact times, individual locations and the route of the extraordinary procession have not yet been published. Shortly before attending, check the latest news from Pinoso Town Council and MCM Pinoso. Both municipal channels regularly publish information about activities organised by the Cofradía de la Virgen del Remedio. The map below shows the parish church of San Pedro Apóstol as the central orientation point for the religious programme.
